7PS: How to make an album with $0 πŸ’Ώ

by | May 24, 2026

Read time: 1 minute, 327 words.

Last year, I made a lo-fi holiday album.

Total cost: $0.

It took me about three months to compose, arrange, track, edit, mix, and master the whole thing myself.

Marketing budget: also $0.

No ads.

No campaign.

No industry machinery.

The album made ~$200 in royalties.

So why do it?

Not because it was supposed to be a huge streamer or earner.

I did it because I wanted to make something I was happy with.

And I am.

But the unexpected bonus is this:

The skills I learned on a $0 project have helped me lower the cost of much bigger ones.

For myself.

And for other artists.

Check the infographic below on how to make and release an album for $0.
