Liechtenstein has the 2nd highest GDP per capita in the world ($157k)

Or, an anecdote: My college-age waiter at a restaurant in Vaduz said he would soon leave his role to become a VP at his father’s metal trading investment firm.  😮

PS – 7 things to do in Liechtenstein (based on my trip)

Seven Point Sunday – March 19, 2023

💼 Portfolio Career

Meet Bladimir Aguilera. Playwright, speaker, IT expert. “My playwright role has made me more observant to identify my customers’ needs.” His daily schedule: sales planning, admin, radio show.

⚡️ Productivity

Turn your monitor vertical: “A vertical monitor will display more condensed versions of your browser, but it’ll allow you to fully fit two windows on your screen instead of one more comfortably. This means that if you use a monitor as your laptop’s second display, you’ll have immediate control over three applications or tabs at the same time.”

💰 Money

Consider N.T. Butterfield & Son (NTB). Regional/small cap banks have been decimated, creating potential attractive entry point. Bermuda-based smallcap bank for affluent customers. Dividend ~6%. Read this thesis.

📚 Books

Read Four Thousand Weeks: Time Management for Mortals by Oliver Burkeman. “Drawing on the insights of both ancient and contemporary philosophers, psychologists, and spiritual teachers, [the author] delivers an entertaining, humorous, practical, and ultimately profound guide to time and time management.”

🎵 Music

Listen to Liszt: Rhapsodies, Études & Transcriptions by Sophia Agranovich. “I chose my favorite pieces that happen to be extremely demanding technically and musically, and are rarely performed live,” she says. My favorite tracks: “No. 6 in D-Flat Major” & “Schwanengesang.”

📽️ Film

Watch 20,000 Days on Earth directed by Ian Forsyth, Jane Pollard. Amusing & dramatic film that follows writer/musician Nick Cave who marks his 20,000th day on the planet Earth.

Can you relate to Ryan Holiday‘s post? In fact, I temporarily deactivated IG/FB because of incoming requests.

Boundaries are great- but where do you draw the line? Developing artists/writers really benefit from guidance from peers… if they really are willing to listen. Perhaps this Ryan post is a great way to start assessing setting a boundary for yourself, the asset; to only letting people you instinctually believe are worthy of receiving, respecting and internalizing the brain pick, pick.

    Very interesting, Kabir. thank you.

Hi Nicole, thanks for sharing your perspective. It can be hard to know where to draw the line. I struggle with that – finding time to create my own work/art vs. helping others create their own. But you make a good point to prioritize, and I’m indeed trying.
