Sonder – the realization that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own. 

Takeaway: let’s not assume the worst. Be a little more forgiving. And maybe even apologize? ‘Tis the season, after all. 

I’ll go first. I’m sorry. If I’ve wronged you in some way, didn’t return your phone call, ate the last biscotti, etc…my bad. 

I hope we can turn the page and consider the sonder of life. 

I also hope I used my new favorite word correctly.

‘Tis now the season…for leftovers. Nobody is judging. ☃️

Listen to Three Suites by Duke Ellington. Features his Nutcracker Suite. My favorite tracks: “Peanut Brittle Brigade (March)” and “Sugar Rum Cherry (Dance of the Sugar-Plum Fairy).” I always thought Tchaikovsky’s classic would be more palatable with spiced rum. Ellington poured it for us.
